Mededeling 093 Maximum instantaneous water consumption

The Working Group on Instantaneous Water Consump-
t i o n of t h e Committee on D i s t r i b u t i o n of K I W A per-
formed measurements on t h e maximum i n s t a n t a n e o u s
water consumption by a number of s p e c i f i c catego-
r i e s of consumers. Measurements were performed i n
r e s i d e n c e s , o f f i c e s , s c h o o l s , old age homes, nur-
s i n g homes and s p o r t s complexes.
The g o a l was t h a t of determining whether it is
reasonable, i n designing f e e d l i n e s t o drinking
water i n s t a l l a t i o n s (still) t o u t i l i z e t h e fl-
method, used up t o t h e p r e s e n t time.
The conclusion of t h e Working Group is t h a t design
g u i d e l i n e s adapted t o d i f f e r e n t s i t u a t i o n s should
be provided.
I n a d d i t i o n , i n t h e new g u i d e l i n e s , u s e is made of
v a r i a b l e s which should advantageously be followed
i n design.
