Coagulation and ceramic microfiltration/ ultrafiltration for the treatment of drinking water

Artikelen

“Ceramic microfiltration/ultrafiltration (MF/UF) membranes are attracting increasing attention. Compared to polymeric membranes they have higher chemical and mechanical stability and therefore a longer lifetime, they are more hydrophilic, have a higher porosity giving high water flux, and a relatively narrow pore size distribution. The thermal stability is usually very good as well, as most ceramic membranes are produced at high temperature. They can also be recycled.
However, they are generally more expensive than polymeric membranes, but increased application is expected to lower their cost significantly.”
