World Water Forum 2018. City Blueprints included in European Forum Report

Artikelen

“KWR’s City Blueprint Approach (CBA) has been incorporated in this European Forum Report on Water (preforum version) for the 8th World Water Forum 2018. We are using the quote of Kofi Annan to stress the need for a coordinated global approach to collect data on water, waste and climate change in cities. Unless water management and water governance processes are significantly improved within a decade or so, cities are likely to face serious and prolonged water insecurity, urban floods and/or heat stress, that may result in social instability and, ultimately, in massive migration.
The World Water Forum is the world’s biggest water-related event and is organized by the World Water Council. Its mission is “to promote awareness, build political commitment and trigger action on critical water issues at all levels, to facilitate the efficient conservation, protection, development, planning, management and use of water in all its dimensions on an environmentally sustainable basis for the benefit of all life”. WWF8 will be held from 18 to 23 March 2018, in Brazil.”
